Re: DGA Nominations Predictions
The consensus front-runners this year are so strongly embedded that the only truly interesting element is whether something a bit more on-the-borderline can crash the slate.
I think only Nolan/Scorsese/Lanthimos feel locked in for best directing at the Oscars, but I have little doubt Gerwig will make it here, and Payne is the most logical choice for the 5th slot at this more populist group.
If anyone slips in ahead of him -- Celine Song, or Jonathan Glazer, the most likely -- they instantly become much stronger for an Oscar slot. But it doesn't especially hurt their cause to miss.

I think with the DGA it helped to think a bit boringly which is why I'm ultimately going with Payne over Cooper, Glazer, Triet, and Celine Song (the likeliest sub in).
