93rd Oscars: Best Actor
Re: 93rd Oscars: Best Actor
Anthony Hopkins just released a 30 second thank you video on his Instagram account. He looks surprised for his win and payed tribute to Chadwick Boseman. A very gracious (and short) speech.
For those who have an instagram account I highly recommend following him.

I guess it wasn't a coincidence after all that all these anonymous voters were acknowledging Boseman but at the end of the day were voting for Hopkins.
In a related note, Marvel's decision not to recast Black Panther looks even worse now. Chadwick was a great actor but not a god. No actor is bigger than the role, even James Bond was recast after Sean Connery left.

The question is will he deign to show up to present the award for Best Actress next year.

Honestly, my lesser self is little glad Soderbergh's "let's end the show with a big emotional moment" ploy backfired.

Absolutely. I would have voted for Mulligan but McDormand is also a worthy winnerHarryGoldfarb wrote:Horrible telecast, great choices in the end...
