In my opinion Blanchett's victory is one of the best ever. McConaughey and Leto are wonderful together, though separated are not that outstanding, and Lupita's affecting performance is not easy to watch. All these reasons are enough for me to vote for 2013.
The other years are not exactly bad, but kind of disappointing in one way or another.
Bale and Leo are sort of notorious, but considering other supporting winners for the same film, they are definitely the showiest and most over the top couple.
Octavia Spencer is an ok win. And Plummer a decent enough win. Lack of excitement, yes.
The great Day-Lewis deserved much better company. Lawrence and Hathaway may be one the worst female couple of winners in Oscar history, if not the worst.
And this year's winners, merely fine, but nothing for the ages.
