This may be the one and only time when its better to be Michael Cera than his doppelganger Jesse Eisenberg.

The Satellites are generally at variance with the consensus, particularly in the supporting categories whether or not they've seen the films.

We never do. The Satellites have had some interesting choices in the past, but nothing of merit. It's possible a lot of the films not on the list were not screened for them. Even the Golden Globes, a more established organization, have had situations where a film was not screened for them despite being a contender (I believe Avatar wasn't screened last year).

This could be seen as a huge hit to Gwenyth Paltrow...the obviously saw the film, but she couldn't crack either extra-long list

Both Helena Bonham Carter and Melissa Leo missed out on nods.

And apparently Jeff Bridges and Matt Damon haven't shown true grit after all.

They've been averaging six per category the last few years. Maybe it's ties.

- Marion Cotillard but no Joseph Gordon-Levitt?

- No cinematography nod for The Social Network (one of the few things about the film I though was truly outstanding)?

- They really hated Love and Other Drugs, or so it seems when they manage to have 10 best drama pic nominees but kept only 7 in the comedy category.

- What's the deal with the zillion nominees per category?

Why would anyone consider Toy Story 3's screenplay original?
