Having Christopher Walken speak about Michael Shannon was somebody's absurdly genius idea of a great visual gag. They looked like each other, we all had a great laugh.

It didn't seem as emotionally memorable as I'd hoped, but the standing ovation was there, it was a very touching speech by his family, and Heath can join a very exclusive club. To think he would not have approved of an Oscar in life.

I don't even like the performance much (but I did love Heath Ledger), but I was pretty moved by that award.

There's ought to be at least one surprise winner in the acting categories every year. So far, no surprise in the supporting categories ... so, at least one surprise in the leading categories?
