Interesting that Spider-Man 3 did so well after being left off the Academy shortlist. Actually, I think Spider-Man's effects are the best of what I've seen this year, though it's not like there's a ton of competition.

Akash, I wouldn't get too worried about The Kite Runner just yet. Buzz has been virtually non-existent. If it starts to show up at the Guilds, well, okay...but the VFX Society nod shouldn't cause anyone alarm.

I'm telling you guys, this awful film is slowly catching up. Don't be shocked if it does well at PGA, DGA and WGA (especially, given its "literary" pedigree)
