No Country for Old Men sounds about right, but George Clooney? I didn't expect that one.

Edit: Ignore this, I just saw the other thread.

I went to Matthews' blog, and he does say the announcement is tomorrow -- but he doesn't cite that as a change; he seems to feel that was always the schedule. Sasha actually posted a comment suggesting he had it wrong.

On the other hand, Sasha posted at 1:28 that we'd have winners "within the hour", and there's been dead silence since.

Someone is right.

Jack Matthews at NY Daily News announced that about 4 hours ago. It doesn't seem to be the official word from NBR, but I'm not holding my breath for anything to happen today.

I was going to ask the same. No one else, as of 30 seconds ago, had a word (and Sasha at OscarWatch is standing at high alert).

Not that I doubt you; would just like confirmation, nearly half an hour later.

It appears their site is experiencing technical difficulties, which probably means they are trying to update it.

Interestingly, the picture they have up at their website is of Sean Penn accepting his best actor award for Mystic River. An omen, a hint?

Their website.

For those of you who would like to keep vigil.

I looked it up. Every actress that won Best Actress at the NBoR in the past 10 years have at least been nominated for the Oscar if the pattern continues, expect the NBoR winner to be nominated come January.

Last year was a fiasco in which in-fighting caused them to delay the awards for several days. They then took an inordinate amoung of time to come up with their lists, which have grown ridiculously long in the last years.

We could hear something anywhere between 12 noon EST and 6 P.M.

Well, last year, I think I got the list in the evening. My post came in late that the day after they were announced....
