This Leon Talley person from Vogue is an embarrassment to both the gay and the African-American communities.

I just heard from a friend who is in LA covering the Oscars that if this mornings rehearsal is any sign, Al Gore will get a lot of attention tonight...not sure what that means, but passing it along.

I was watching a little of Gus van Sant's wonderful film Elephant, last night, and had forgotten that Diane Keaton was an executive producer. How cool is that?

Not if you were Sherry Lansing.

I read that Will Ferrell and Jack Black are once again going to sing a duet like they did at the 2003 Oscars.

Do any of you give any credence to the report by Nikki Finke of a super-secret plan (though not anymore) for a troika of Francis Coppola, George Lucas, and Steven Spielberg to hand out best director? If Scorsese wins, this would be the movie brat reunion for the ages. This would be the photo on every front page tomorrow. But what if this trio had to give the Oscar to Eastwood? (although Spielberg wouldn't mind; he might even have voted for him.) Or to somebody entirely outside their circle, like Iñárritu? Is this idle rumor, or is it for real?

I do love Diane Keaton, but I just saw Godfather Part III and she was absolutely atrocious! I mean the terrible Sofia Coppola did better in the film than she did.

And Andy Garcia was yummy in it.

Dianne Keaton is a wonderful actress. And a wonderful presence. She is a serious, intelligent woman (after all she was the executive producer of Gus van Sant's Elehant). If I were to get an Academy Award Oscar, I would love to receive it from Dianne Keaton.

Diane Keaton will more than likely introduce Nancy Meyers' piece on writers.
