Yes, but only if they're provided the groups doing the voting. Every year it seems one or another didn't get their screeners or screenings on time or at all.

Good question considering that these things come earlier and earlier every year. Scheduled December releases count. I guess we just have to assume that the organizations will have seen most if not all of the potential nominees prior to voting.

How does this work for precursors that give out their awards a month before the year ends? Do all the December releases figure in?

Precursors are just a little over two months away.

From Variety:

Two early and critical precursors to the awards season have announced their voting dates and annual galas. First, the National Board of Review will reveal its 2021 honorees on Tuesday, Nov. 30, with their awards presentation and gala scheduled for Tuesday, Jan. 11, hosted by NBC News’ Willie Geist. They will be followed by the New York Film Critics Circle, which announces its awards on Friday, Dec. 3, before the gala planned for Jan. 10, 2022, at Tao Downtown “pending world events.”
