Gosh, looking at this list is pretty uninspiring. Voted for The Thin Red Line, which at least lingers in the mind as a beautiful and singular movie, although it does go on a bit. Shakespeare is fun but let down by too many stupid supporting characters. Don't care for the other three.

It should have been Gods and Monsters, but among the nominees I woudl have picked Saving Private Ryan.

Shakespeare in Love, with The Thin Red Line a close second. Life is Beautiful and Saving Private Ryan are fine, but unspectacular. Elizabeth has no business getting near the Oscars.
