We'll have to agree to disagree on The Golden Compass. I thought it was beautifully designed and the visual effects were, for me, the best of this year next to Transformers.
now that we have gotten over our post nomination first reactions, now is the time to lay out how we feel about the nominees. i think the latter half of this decade has been better than the first half. 2005, 2006, and 2007 best picture nominees have been pretty crap free, even if i did not agree with all the picks. hopefully the can continue this trend in the next two years.
