Yes, that tribute to James Hong was a beautiful thing. Per IMDB: 451 acting credits going back to 1954. Unbelievable. His speech went on slightly too long, but his “look at us now” was by far the line of the night. EEAAO seems a juggernaut, no?

My only other thought: is Colin Farrell really out of the Best Actor race? Such a beautiful performance.

Quite a lively show. The four film acting winners all gave fine speeches. The Sally Field tribute was well done, and the ensemble win for EEAAO was worth it just for the tribute to 94-year-old James Hong whose hilarious speech was the best of the evening.

The White Lotus crew was also having a good time with F. Murray Abraham in great form.

It was interesting having Austin Butler sitting next to the stage. Was it because they thought he was going to win, or because they anticipated the winners (Jessica Chastain, Sally Field, Michelle Yeoh) would love having Elvis help them up the steps?

I hope this wins him an honorary Oscar. If anyone deserves it, it's he.

The EEAAO cast using their Ensemble win to pay tribute to James Hong is such a lovely, lovely moving moment.

They just sealed their Best Picture win.

Really dumb, in my opinion, that this movie is obviously going to win Ensemble in a few minutes when they have already awarded three of its cast members. Ensemble should go more often to a movie that doesn't have many cast members recognized.

This doesn't necessarily mean Curtis is winning the Oscar, just that Angela Bassett is no longer a lock for a win. She now has legitimate competition from both Kerry Condon and Jamie Lee Curtis (who might also be getting the career tribute votes that Bassett was counting on to win).
Lots of people here have been saying for a long time that Bassett was a blogger fantasy, and blogger fantasies don't always get willed into reality.
