Indiewire ranks the Original Song nominees. At this point, I've only heard "Down to Joy" and "Be Alive."

I actually thought that Being the Ricardos had a great score that perfectly suited what the movie was trying to do. Probably the one citation that makes the most sense. I thought Sorkin’s screenplay was over-expository and, at times, flat-out awful. Giving lines to characters they would never actually say and making them devices/mouth-pieces to deliver “themes.” Maybe he needs to start doing coke again—the writing then was better.

The Good:
No TITANE for International Film!!!!!
CANDYMAN and THE GREEN KNIGHT being recognized for their scores...even if neither will be nominated
A quiet film like THE POWER OF THE DOG being recognized for it's sound has to be a sign of strong support across the Academy, even in categories you would not expect

The Bad:
NIGHTMARE ALLEY out for score!
BEING THE RICARDOS in for score!?!

The Ugly:
Which feature film category is going to nominate the worst sequel: Visual Effects (GHOSTBUSTERS: AFTERLIFE) or Make-up (COMING 2 AMERICA)? Maybe both will get nominated, and 2021's awfulness will follow me into 2022.

Maybe Nightmare Alley for Best Original Score, Sound, and Visual Effects.

I would've thought that The Suicide Squad would make the cutoff for Best Visual Effects. I thought the shark character was very good.

At first glance, I don't notice anything missing that was highly expected.
