I agree, matthew, the second half of Atonement was just a mess. I felt nothing from the fates of any of the main characters because the Wright and screenwriter Christopher Hampton failed to make them three-dimensional and relatable.

What a disappointment.

...sigh...

Not a bad film at all, but not worthy of a best pic nomination, to say nothing of a win. I would have put Zodiac in that spopt and given the award to NCFOM (have not seen TWBB).

I'm sorry, but no fricking way is Zodiac better than Atonement.

...in the eye of the beholder...

I personally thought Atonement fell to pieces in the second half but I understand why it has support. (I prefer Zodiac though :) )

Well, one can certainly hope that the Globes-from-within-the-bunker thing translates to even less overlap between the Globes and the Oscars than usual.

No, it's not. Actually, it's a quite wonderful development, especially for Atonement, Diving Bell & the Butterfly and especially to see Juno completely shut out.

Sorry, Oscarguy, if I commited a faux pas by posting the BP Drama results. I was unaware that CNN was giving the results a lot earlier than NBC.

I see. I was wondering how Best Drama could've been announced before, oh, Best Song.
