"Little Person" would be my runner-up choice. It's a great song beautifully used probably more so, but "The Wrestler" is just awesome.

I wish I could award it to The Wrestler...

I'd love to bolster WALL-E's tally but "Down to Earth" is a terrible song. "O Saya" takes it.

Why not move forward to Best Supporting Actress, 2008? Rudeboy.

I think Sean Penn is the best performer in this category. Rourke and Jenkins are both strong, but I didn't find either of them as wonderful as their supporters seem to. Pitt is fine in the film, but Langella is the best part of his film. He brings a depth to the proceedings that no one else can find (except Michael Sheen), and this is a great chance to award an unawarded actor. Langella takes it.

WRITING (Screenplay Adapted from Other Material)
The Apprenticeship of Duddy Kravitz -- Screenplay by Mordecai Richler; Adaptation by Lionel Chetwynd
* The Godfather Part II -- Francis Ford Coppola, Mario Puzo
Lenny -- Julian Barry
Murder on the Orient Express -- Paul Dehn
Young Frankenstein -- Gene Wilder, Mel Brooks

Sorry for being late... am I still allowed to give an answer?

If the answer is yes I have to say I haven't seen The Apprenticeship (...) but considering the other four films this is a chance to use a pass and not regreting to do so.

Coppola and Puzo remain the winners.

I considered giving it to Grand Canyon but The Fisher King gets it.
