I agree. Izzard was unbearable! So repetitive and unfunny.Big Magilla wrote:Kind of odd scheduling this for 8 P.M. on the West Coast.
For anyone who missed it, you didn't miss much.
Eddie Izzard was a poor excuse for an emcee - totally obnoxious and unfunny. It wasn't until perennial former emcee John Waters came out to co-present a couple of minor awards that the show came alive. His story about the sequel to Precious in which Precious has a third baby, a light skinned boy fathered by Justin Timberlake, was actually laugh out loud funny.
The other highpoint came surprisingly courtesy of Ben Stiller introducing back-up porn stars - two girls and a guy - to perform mock sex acts in the background while he presented the best picture award.
The acceptance speeches, though mostly heartfelt, went on forever. One of the writers of (500) Days of Summer actually thanked his entire family including uncles, aunts and cousins. Lee Daniels' "Kathryn Bigelow isn't here, I am" was probably the most cringe inducing moment of the evening.

I saw John Waters perform his stage show 'This Filthy World' on Tuesday night. He was hilarious, as usual.Big Magilla wrote: It wasn't until perennial former emcee John Waters came out to co-present a couple of minor awards that the show came alive. He mentioned how much he like Precious and the Lee Daniels had told him how much he loved Waters' Female Trouble.

Kind of odd scheduling this for 8 P.M. on the West Coast.
