Let's at least try to preserve The Thin Red Line in Cinematography, guys, because at this rate... :p

I loved the Butcher Boy!

Group I: Replacing Terrence Malick with Neil Jordan for The Butcher Boy (Best Director).

Group II: Replacing Shakespeare in Love with Festen in Best Film Editing.

Group III: Preserving Mask of Zorro in Sound Effects Editing.

Group I - Right now, I'm faced with either installing Wes Anderson for Best Director or Bill Murray for Best Supporting Actor. Considering that 'Rushmore' is not nominated for Best Original Screenplay, I'm going to replace Peter Weir ('The Truman Show') with Wes Anderson ('Rushmore').

Group II - I'm going to replace the bombastic score for 'The Prince of Egypt' with Mark Mothersbaugh's score for 'Rushmore'.

Group III - 'Out of Sight' replaces 'Shakespeare in Love' in Best Sound.

Another great choice (the exact move I was going to make next time around)! You are batting 1.000 today:)

Preserve Lynn Redgrave in Supporting Actress.

Replace The Thin Red Line in Editing with Gods and Monsters.

Add Gods and Monsters to Make-up.

One of his best performances. I certainly wouldn't begrudge it.

Or maybe Chucky in Bride of Chucky.

Ah, the agony of choice.
Which reminds me ... someone, anyone consider Jennifer Tilly.

Okay, I'm going to leave McKellan alone. If I were to replace him with anyone else, I'd be replacing him for the sake of replacing him. I love Briges in Big Lebowski, but he was nowhere near as good as McKellan.

@rain Brad - Schwartzman did pop into my mind, but again he wasn't as good as McKellan.

So I'm going to nominate a long over-due actor:

Replace Geoffrey Rush with John Goodman in The Big Lebowski.

I don't suppose Jason Schwartzman would enter into your thinking... you know, to throw a bone to those of us who are into solipsistic, masturbatory, overrated messes?

My Name Is Joe is ineligible - it was not released in the U.S. until January, 1999.

HAHAHAHA!!! That was fucking hilarious.
I wouldn't speak too soon. I'm leaning toward giving Jeff Bridges the Best Actor nomination for The Big Lebowski.

But I still haven't decided.

I'll need to think about this one.

Do I still want to remove McKellan? Unknown at this point.

Watch this space.
