I agree. Peter O'Toole's last act "appearance" is the final democratic moment (the film's perspective is always shifting) where the entire film turns so that the critic can have his say. It's a wonderfully self-conscious moment, with O'Toole's character pronouncing the dish a success, and essentially lauding the film.

Not to fit into the crowd, but I actually was too. He and Ian Holm were the two actors who I had read the most about in terms of their voice-work. Needless to say, with O'Toole not on the list, I had to go with Holm.

I'm kinda surprised he didn't. He was quite terrific in Ratatouille.

I noticed that Beowulf got only a single nomination, the same number as TMNT.

Seems like, as with Polar Express, animators unsurprisingly don't consider what Zemeckis & Co. are up to a good example of their artform.
