When I was solo I despised Valentine's Day. Now that I've been with my beloved for 16 and 1/2 years we just do cards because we feel like we treat so many other days over the course of the year like February 14 that we don't need to be bullied into chocolates, flowers etc. But Cam you got some great items! I love kitchen gifts.

You, too? What is this Grinch Alley?

For those of us who do have someone in our lives, it is an extra reminder( for me anyway) that I need to show my love on that day. I do every day anyway, but it's a special day for that. And requires a gift of some sort. I got, from my wife, a new stainless sieve, and some other handy things for my kitchen. She got raspberry tulips and some body lotion.
Speaking of occasions, there is a big move afoot in BC to make Chinese New Year a provincial holiday. Why not? Great to have a holiday in dark midwinter. Maybe it will coincide with Valentines' Day.

I refuse to acknowledge this assault on commercialism...least of which is because I"m alone and don't like it.

Just don't use that as your pickup line next year.

I worked late today and wasn't able to get a date (just like the past 25 Valentine's Days in my lifetime).

It doesn't matter. We all know Valentine's Day is a money-making sham cooked up by Greeting Card/Flowers/Candies corporations.

To all my gay friends on this board, have a happy John Waters Valentine's Day.

May it be anything but patient and prudent.

Some Valentine's Day treats (music is involved, so have your volume up):

A Kiss Is Just A Kiss

A Kiss Is Just A Kiss 2

Unfortunately, I don't have a partner yet but to those who already have one, enjoy your Valentine's Day to the max! Get in the mood and try to get laid if you haven't. :p
With a Southern accent...

"You threaten my congeniality, you threaten me!"

Happy Valentine's Day Guys!!! I'll be curling up with two days' worth of As the World Turns...(yeah, the guy I was so into a few weeks ago dumped me...his loss.)

cam, click on "Your Control Panel" in the upper left corner of the page; then click on "Personal Info" ; then click on "Avatar Options" ; then, if you're using an image from another website, copy the link for that image and paste it into the space for "Your Avatar" at the bottom of that page.

Hope everyone here has a hunny to snugle up with today, or at least amovie (of whatever ilk) to keep you company.
