I believe that movies have a magic to them. Okay, some do. Board members may understand this but the general public who would rather rent a DVD than go to the theatre don't get it. So in that vein I voted for Field Of Dreams. When I first saw it and even up to the last time I watched it on TV I had goosebumps and shivers. There is just something about that movie.

I like both Born On The Fourth and Miss Daisy a great deal. I went with Born because of its greater scope. But Daisy is a lovely chamber piece. And of course I will forever be grateful to Dead Poets for resuscitaing Ethan Hawke's career.

Great year. Lousy lineup. I dislike three of them. 'Driving Miss Daisy' is very underrated, but 'My Left Foot' is the only I would put close to the same level as 'Do the Right Thing', 'Crimes and Misdemeanors', or 'Drugstore Cowboy'. How far Harvey has fallen!

Out of these: Driving Miss Daisy, which was touchingly acted.

Mine: Edward Zwick's Glory.

Born on the Fourth of July, although Driving Miss Daisy is a fine choice. Dead Poets Society and Field of Dreams are uninspired films and uninspired choices. Never seen My Left Foot. I should add it to my Netflix queue.
