It's Trivia Time
For only the third time there are more than one nominee under 30 nominated in the best actor line up. It happened in 1953, when 29 yo Marlon Brando and Richard burton, and in 1989, when 27 yo Tom Cruise and 29 yo Kenneth Branagh were nominated.
Not one of the 20 actors nominated is aged between 30 and 40.
Meryl Streep’s nomination is her 7th in the last 10 years (2008-2017). This was achieved 4 times before: Bette Davis (1935-1944), Streep (1978-1987), Streep (1979-1988) and, yes, Streep (1981-1990).
And, of course, Plumer is the oldest nominated actor ever for the youngest nominated performance ever.
