Well, Ryan may do well with the Great White Way crowd. Found this quote from a Stephen Holt (whoever he is) on Awards Daily: I was at a big A list wing-ding this week and made a point (trying not to be an Oscar pest) to all that would answer me in the crowded party-like atmosphere, “Who do you thin...

Semple was incorrect in his description of the ending of Into the Wild.

I guess it is no surprise as to the number of nominated films they haven't seen.

Cate Blanchett, who seems responsible for setting or tying a bunch of records this year, contributed to one more that I haven't seen mentioned. Queen Elizabeth I, now ties Henry VIII as the role resulting in the most acting nominations (three) - a record that has stood alone for 38 years.

I won't let this go on, because it is obviously a trick question. However, I did say Who is and not who was: The answer is Michael Cimino for The Deer Hunter, who is now Elizabeth Cimino. http://blogs.citypages.com/amadzine/ Scroll down a bit. By the way, I have no idea if this story is true (or th...

In the old days, my goal was 80% (only for the top 6 categories). That represented very good accomplishment. Today, with a million pundits and polls, 80% is no more that an acceptable minimum. Well, I got exactly 80% in each of the 6 categories - 4 of 5. I didn't ace any. Supporting Actor was the o...

I think this will be a great year for Best Picture competition. Michael Clayton is the strongest, nomination-wise, with 6 nominations in the Big 8 Categories. No Country is the pre-nomination front runner, There Will Be Blood is the critics choice, Juno stays strong and is the popular favorite and ...

It was a silly, pretty forgettable comedy, but she and her co-stars Dom DeLuise and Jerry Reed, who played undercover cops, spent some time at The Miami Police Department, and ...
