Re: Nomination Talk
I saw Robert F. Kennedy, Jr. speak at a college lecture series on Wednesday night. Rather ironic to see his younger sister nominated for an Oscar as a documentary filmmaker on Thursday morning. Good luck to everyone on the message board in preparing for this year's Oscar pool!

Re: Golden Globes prediction contest!
I hear ya about last minute changes. Mine was switching Redmayne for Cumberbatch right at the last minute. I almost switched to THE GRAND BUDAPEST HOTEL for Best Film in its category, too.

Re: 2013-2014 Emmy Awards
I had a sort of a vague theory the Emmys default to film stars so I was predicting Robin Wright & Matthew McConaughey wins. Didn't pan out.

Re: Complete List of Nominations
I'm surprised by the Redford oversight. Yet he only has ONE line of dialogue. I read he's blaming the distributor for not campaigning/promoting his film. Perhaps the distributor assumed he'd sail to a nomination based on his pedigree/reputation/everyone-assumed-he'd-be-nominated?

Re: Golden Globe reactions
12 YEARS A SLAVE not taking Best Actor/Supporting Actress last night came as a surprise. I had considered Ejiofor & Nyong'o Oscar locks, now it seems their fate is perhaps precarious.

Re: As the Ballots Are Being Filled Out
A great deal of consensus it seems this year on who the final five will be in the major categories.
Does anyone know which celebrity will be doing the announcements Thursday morning?

Mister Tee wrote: Proof I’ve been watching the Tonys too long: I’ve heard that “But I’ll keep it at my house” joke multiple times. (The first to use it, I believe, was Kelly Bishop for A Chorus Line) I remember that. Similarly, the opening of Judith Light's acceptance speech this year directly mimic...

Re: MacFarlane/Stone to Announce Nominees
I liked the infusion of humor & little random comments during the ceremony. It was a nice change of pace. Sometimes it's so serious & solemn.
