Just watched The Hard Way. While the story is nothing new, Ida Lupino gives a superb performance as the ambitious, pushy older sister of Joan Leslie. She clearly deserved a nod in the lead category. Also a surprise to see how good both Dennis Morgan and Jack Carson (in a dramatic part for a change)...

Pity nobody mentions / remembers Jodie Foster's superb supporting performance in Stealing Home. This is the film and category she should have won the Oscar for, thus leaving the way open for Glenn Close to win for Dangerous Liaisons.
