Nope. Don't know a single person who has seen it or heard of it. And the prospect of watching Steel Magnolias sounds like a threat, so I'll abstain.
Between Fricker or Wiest, I would go with Fricker. She has no great scene but her work is cumulatively grand.

Surprisingly, I've seen all five nominees but almost a decade has transpired since I've revisited them, or at least long enough so that I don't realize it hasn't been a decade. Working Girl felt like such a minor thing when I saw it that I was astonished it beat out such a stronger comedy like Bull...

Enter the Void (Gaspar Noé) This is my first viewing of a Noé film in a theater and it's certainly the place to watch it. Had I been at home, I would still be pausing and resuming it to date. It's somewhere between a technical marvel replete with an amazing audio mix and an outright sensory/sensibi...

(Greg @ Oct. 04 2010,6:47) How can Facebook's stock be worth ten times its revenue to date, especially given the history of so many Internet-based businesses that have gone big early then crashed and burned? It strikes me that Facebook could be its own mini-dot-com bubble. Considering how much the ...

(MovieWes @ Oct. 04 2010,11:29) So my question is, what does The Social Network have going for it that those other films didn't? Most, if not all, of those films were critically acclaimed and (although I either hadn't been born yet or was not old enough to witness their immediate cultural impact) p...

Nah. I mean, they could be. But I doubt it. My early predictions are Best Director, Best Adapted Screenplay, and Best Film Editing. Jesse Eisenberg should win and he most likely will be nominated, although I could definitely see voters confusing him with his character. The supporting actors will ca...
