There's a difference, criddic. I thought he was referring to something I said and he wasn't. That's about it.

There's nothing wrong with typing conversationally, unless it sounds like cut & paste from the Junior 'Publican handbook.

Isn't Badlands officially a 1973 release? If it isn't, then that would make 1974 one of the very, very best years for american films. Couple that with international masterpieces from Bergman, Bresson, Resnais, Bunuel, Malle, Fassbinder, Rivette, Fellini, and Truffaut (once again: if Day for Night c...

I never said it was stupid. For the most part, I agree with your assessment: it's certainly leisurely, very affectionate, and somewhat enjoyable. But it also came across as totally forgettable; even while on the screen, I was gearing up to forget the thing. Don't know what to tell you about Fallon....

Fever Pitch --** ...I went to this movie because of the Farrelly's despite how much I dislike Jimmy Fallon's shambling slacker enthusiasm. Although I don't watch Saturday Night Live if I can prevent it, I'm so much more willing to now that he's left the Update desk. I don't like Jimmy Fallon. Someh...

Barry, I'm only mentioning it because I don't see the logic. Keep in mind, I also happen to think that Haley Joel Osment was a lead in The Sixth Sense so feel free to disregard. How is Ralph Fiennes a supporting actor in The End of the Affair when he is telling the story and in far more scenes than...

Just the opposite. I'm just making an observation that it's interesting that a stoner movie is so tightly structured, that's all. One wouldn't imagine that from a movie called Harold and Kumar Go to White Castle . The director's previous work is Dude, Where's My Car? , a lousy movie not without its...

The fact that they are in fact very smart people who manage their habit is a refreshing change of pace from archetypal stoner characters - although also from reality, in my experience. What I meant by A leads to B leads to C is that the screenplay is very conventionally structured for a stoner come...

Had no idea Neil Patrick Harris was gay. Never would've guessed from his performance. I would've liked a Harold and Kumar movie that was a little less A-leads to-B-leads to-C but all in all, pretty funny.

How about you start, Sonic. ***1/2, ahead of Million Dollar Baby and not a peep? It's been months, dude. It's strange. I saw The Incredibles again, liked it, but feel no enthusiasm strong enough to get me in the middle of this debate. I still think very highly of it, even while I wish some of its c...

C'mon, Brucie! I know that Anne disappears a bit in the final act but there's still more than enough screentime to warrant leading status.

For me, Braveheart hasn't aged very well. I have a lot of affection towards it because it was the first "adult" movie that I had ever seen. My father took me to the Cine Capri in Phoenix to see it and I was blown away, completely obsessed with it for years. My Oscar fanaticism took root w...

Oh, Fishburne was amazing. That's not the problem. The problem is that the film can't go five minutes without tripping over a soapbox. I understand the point that Singleton is trying to make (and his nomination over Streisand is a well-deserved triumph), but his screenplay and hyper directing refus...

Well, I have my first official four star entry so it's as good a time to launch this as any.

See. This. Film. Two three hour increments that go by like eighty minutes a piece. You have time for this one, people.

Eh.

It's all in the text. Man, does Singleton like speechifying. The performances are the best thing in it. Even if it has a "proper" message, it isn't a very interesting one.

Zero Mostel was great in "The Front!" I had forgotten about him and that film.
