I hate thinking that casey affleck will be pushed into the supporting catorgory for jesse james but whereever they put him i can't see him being ignored. The performance was too good and he was also strong in gone baby gone. It's heinous to think about said scenarios, as I think the supporting push...

And I agree with that.

Despite being confused or not being able to express the right group, I believe that Leslie Mann's IMDB awards profile will still be blank when March rolls around...

Amy Ryan has a shot at a Supporting nomination but I don't really see it happening. I maintain that Cate Blanchett and Leslie Mann will pick up the majority of critic's trophies, and that the latter will push her way into a nomination. Sabin, I know you have been pushing the Mann thing since June, ...

For nothing more than adding more speculation to this fine argument here over a very passionate topic on this board...the 3.5 star from Eric and the boys is only shared with two other films I believe: We Own the Night, and The Assassination of Jesse James by the Coward Robert Ford, ironically enoug...

While I disagree wholeheartedly with Pen on Royal Tenenbaums and Hilary Swank (in Million Dollar Baby)...who knows about Paul Greengrass as I am site unseen on his foray into the big screen...I do agree more than ever on the actual topic of this thread that Assassination is splendid and sadly Casey...

Haha, Sonic, I dig what you're saying, which further exemplifies the splendor of film's subjectivity because I was enthralled and if anything the coda seemed a little rushed and I could have gone for more there, inevitably leading to your three word description...

I guess your review is clever? I guess that is what you were going for, I personally didn't think any of the film was extraneous and maybe I'm nitpicking and you were thinking of your whole movie-going experience with commercials and whatnot, but it's barely over two and a half hours long as a film...

I know you feel the exact opposite of this Wes, but I think what makes this a non-race with A.I. for me personally, is how happy and mushy he makes us have to feel at the end of Minority Report, but it is a damn beautiful film...

I did not mean to diminish the quality of Diving Bell as a film, I merely was handicapping its chances at actually receiving a Best Picture nomination at the Academy Awards which has to be less than zero...hopefully along those same lines as Hairspray...and thus my worry for Assassination's chances...

I know we've come to terms with the Oscars just being the Oscars and we all love them but not to get too dejected about some of their choices, but I'm certain that good ole Jesse James (movie of the year!) not even making a list ahead of Hairspray and the Diving Bell and Casey Affleck being conside...

Yeah so in no way did I mean to suggest that the dual directorship would diminish the possibility of a very likely nomination for the Coens I merely thought it intriguing that...beginning with Ladykillers (thanks FilmFan) they have now chosen to both be listed as directors, when if they clearly bot...
