Re: Oscar Nominations
These type of articles are basically "death to the future Oscars" in my humble opinion...and the SEO here is further disappointment as clicks will abound!! The immediacy and all hands on deck nature of the interwebs has changed the landscape SO much....hard to fathom anyone making a straig...

Re: SAG Nominations
Watching the second run show unfortunately...Brad Pitt is a national treasure, let's be honest. He works too much and is too "everywhere" to ever be separated from his Brad Pitt-ness, but, EXACTLY what I've always said is underrated about the man is why he killed. He killed this speech: he...

Make me the 3rd...really REALLY hard to stomach no DeNiro...as much as I mostly enjoyed this season and many of the nomineesReza wrote:I totally agree.flipp525 wrote:Leonardo DiCaprio raking in another undeserved nomination. I would have much preferred with Paul Walter Hauser, Taron Egerton, or Robert De Niro.

Re: 1917 reviews
Can't help but be intrigued by what HAS to be considered the most trailer-porn of all the trailers this Oscar season...but the premise of the goings on (based upon true or not) annoy me and I am not shocked by Tee's initial reactions. Tee reminded me immensely of my younger employee, who is a video ...

Re: Judy reviews
Nor did Hillary Swank. Well, yet, I should say. For fear of derailing this too much...I'd argue 2 things: 1) Swank was quite, maybe more deserving for her first win than even her second statue 2) I'd have very possibly voted for her to win for The Homesman...let alone be nominated...but maybe that ...

Re: 2019 Baseball Post-season
Either it's 1) my season long belief in the team and its merits beyond being Bryce's former team 2) my belief Davey Martinez wasn't just a Maddon version of Charlie Weis 3) my love for Soto since he became the youngest player in the majors last June, or 4) (ahem most likely) my 19/1 ticket from the ...

Nancy Pelosi is the SHIT!
That's all.
I had planned to make this a topic thread title, but I possibly am not able to post new topics any longer?

Re: Campaign 2020
This must be my naivete regarding what the hell constitutes a "winner", per se, because I come away from both sets of debates (all 4 nights) thinking Cory Booker made zero missteps, always kept his composure, debated amongst fellow candidates without failure, and succeeded with the likabil...

Wonderful feel for comedy and possibly a genius in that arena. He (in all facets) is one of my favorite and most lasting childhood memories of television and film.
RIP Tim Conway
You absolutely made my days gooder

This voting system (purposely?) rewards being neither loved nor loathed, am I correct?
I am not completely adept at how it works, but the winners definitely seem to be very compromise choices the likes of which all branches voting would achieve after several tiered elimination voting rounds.
