I´m in contact with some guy (Victor?, Nik? ) I don´t remember exactly his name who is looking forward to meeting you! HA! I only have one definite thing planned, for Thursday of next week, so I'm open for the rest of the trip. So I'd like ideas of things to do. I know I'm going to try to go to tha...

Cinematography, 1991. My choice would've been JFK , but I have to be honest--even though Penelope's official list doesn't say so, I've used all three passes. So I have to toss The Prince of Tides and Terminator 2 aside first. Nothing particularly interesting about the photography of those two. Betw...

I just finished booking a trip to New York City for next week, 3/18-3/21 (I leave at 6:15 on the morning of 3/22 to be back in time for my nephew's birthday party that afternoon). It's a spur of the moment thing, but I still have the freedom (and money) to do something like this, and I have a week ...

Good Lord--what a group of hams.

Anyway, I voted for the one non-ham (although I do like Sean Penn a lot in Mystic River) on the list, Adrien Brody.

Look, this may just be me, and it may be very silly, but I don't like it that so many of the contestants are virtually professional singers. It's not just you. But as far as the professionals posing as amateurs thing goes, I don't see Luke as a huge offender. I don't think his a capella group is bi...

And I guess one of things I dislike most about Archuleta is that he's an unapologetic Mormon. As long as he isn't hurting anyone or anything, I see no reason why he--or anyone else, of any religious group--should have to apologize for his faith. David Archuleta gave a beautiful rendition of Imagine...

Wow. I don't get the hate for Luke, Anonymous. I didn't get to see him last week, but I thought he was pretty good vocally last night. I thought he was pretty good too. Listened back to the mp3--which is the best way to evaluate these performances--and still liked it. Best, most difficult song choi...

Speaking of best actress: was that Terence Stamp alongside Julie Christie? I realize they go back far (and madding), but are they some item I don't know about? I think that was her husband (with whom she's been since 1979, but only married a few months ago), journalist Duncan Campbell, who does loo...

but I think it's stupid that Day-Lewis always stays in character the entire time on and off the set during filming. why is it stupid? I don't know that I could really explain why. More than the fact that he stays in character throughout filming, I'm annoyed by the idea some people have that this pr...

It may mean that I don't fully appreciate great acting, but I think it's stupid that Day-Lewis always stays in character the entire time on and off the set during filming. He started doing that around the same time he quit appearing onstage. I don't really care for most of his performances since, a...
