Re: New site colors
There is no way that I currently know to assign specific styles to specific individuals. It's all or none. I'm currently trying to find out if there's a way to manually change this while enabling the ability to change to an alternate design. Unfortunately, that is not possible at this time.

Re: Honorary Oscars
Bassett is 64. In ten years, she would be very worthy of honoring. Right now, it smacks of apologia and that's never a positive sign.

Re: New Developments III
If this were the plot of a movie (and it sure sounds like one), the richest person would be the one who would suggest one of the others sacrifice themselves to extend their oxygen supply.

Re: Pat Robertson - Dead at 93
There's an adage that goes "if you can't say something nice, don't say anything at all." Since Robertson didn't live by it, I won't either. If there's a hell, I hope he's burning in it. Good riddance to a vile, contemptible human being whose screed poisoned generations of Americans against...

From what I heard, the DGA just rolled over for the AMPTP and that's how it usually happens.

Re: 2023 Tony Awards
The word giant alone implies that they need to be more responsible and provide adequate sources for income for their employees. You're using a rhetorical device that a lot of people use for fast food restaurants. Just because fast food restaurants are considered "lesser" jobs by some doesn...

What is no-fault divorce? Does it mean without cause? Is irreconcilable differences still a cause?

Re: Trump's Indictments & Convictions
Trump is barely younger than Biden. And Bill Maher ceded his credibility years ago. He's no better than Tucker Carlson, just without the racism/anti-Semitism. I'm not so sure they differ much in terms of their homophobia or sexism though.

Look at the cross-tabs, Magilla. That poll needs to be taken with a barrel of salt.

Re: Writers Strike
Ah. So, if the Actors make a deal with the producers to renew the contract, they cannot effectively join the demonstration. I assume those who have dual-membership between SAG/AFTRA and WGA can still strike?

Re: Writers Strike
Which is rather interesting since SAG issued instructions not to guild members not to participate in the strike. I'm sure it was to try and prevent issues with getting their contracts ratified, but it still sounds like bull shit to me.

Re: 2023 Oscar Predictions
Based on my reading of the film's promotional details so far, the cheese is semi-intentional (and after Everything Everywhere All at Once, I don't think we can say cheese doesn't sell with Oscar voters). That said, it also seems to have a solid feminist perspective about the nature of the world. I t...

Re: R.I.P. Barry Humphries aka Dame Edna
It's really amazing to think that our parents (and many of us) watched people like Flip Wilson, Milton Berle, Harvey Korman, Jonathan Winters. Then there's movies like Some Like It Hot, Victor/Victoria, Mrs. Doubtfire...I'm just astounded that it's suddenly become such a right wing bugaboo. It was c...
