I think it looks fine. The jerky camera on the attendant was the only one in the trailer that I noticed. I just question the idea of placing it so close to that TV movie from a couple of months back which did a fine job portraying Flight 93. I'm guessing five years is a long enough wait for Hollywo...

Depending on its release date, the proposed Miles Davis biopic starring Don Cheadle will likely be an Oscar magnet: the third Dead Music Icon biopic in as many years. Of course, Miles' story is extremely interesting, and separate movies could be made about the three or four different musical eras o...

Thanks, flipp! With my part-time job at Barnes & Noble, I've definitely taken advantage of the employee discount--I bought some 20 odd books that I'd long wanted to read, including ........Achebe's Things Fall Apart, It's been years since someone's mentioned this great book. I read it for my O'...

American Beauty followed by Return of the King and Million Dollar Baby. The rest are mediocre to terrible.

That's a great poster. Bittersweet, but history will judge the movie much kinder than the Academy decided to.

Wow, you buy a lot of DVDs Reza, you remind me of me with CDs. How many in your collection? Since January 1st, I've bought the following: Fight Club (David Fincher, 1999) Hoop Dreams (Steve James, 1994) The Insider (Michael Mann, 1999) Serenity (Joss Whedon, 2005) Murderball (Henry Rubin & Dana...

I think the movie's captured the zeitgeist, and that cannot be at all bad for its chances of Oscar wins. As you said Van, it's all publicity (although I don't necessarily see these cartoons or parodies as negative), and it just keeps the movie in the consciousness of the public and voters. There wi...

I gotta ask. Apparently the case seems to only be reluctant men being dragged by their girlfriends to see this movie. Any guys here do the opposite, and drag your girlfriends to see it? I know I did; she was hesitant and unsure about seeing, while I was dying to. She does not think TOO highly of it...

I didn't actually hear it, so it would be lost, but how tongue-in-cheek was he when he endorsed it? I'd take anything Stern said with a grain of salt.
Anyway, don't know if people have seen this yet, but I just love it, it really cracks me up:

TIM BURTON'S CORPSE BRIDE I cannot confess to being a fan of Tim Burton's stop-go animation, and the overall style in general. I watched Nightmare Before Christmas once a long time ago, and I did not generally enjoy it. The aesthetics were fascinating, and the immense work needed to create the film...

I'm in the middle of Stevenson's "Cataclysm", Tolstoy's "Anna Karenina", Reeves' "President Reagan", Judt's "Postwar: Europe After 1945", and Milton's "Paradise Lost" (for school). Some books I recently purchased and am eager to read are Wilnetz's &...

Sonic, would it be fair to assume Brokeback might end up with a significantly larger total than M$B's $100M? It already has a huge headstart, and it nearly ubiquitous in the current entertainment atmosphere, not to mention certain Oscar glory which guarantees huge box office for any film, AND is st...

The article doesn't really give the flavor of Bush's response. Check out the clip to see our emotionally mature president at work here That's perfect. I've seen enough of Bush to imagine how he actually said those things, and the actual thing was spot on. Bumbling, hard thinking, classic Bush. Anyb...
