Quote (ITALIANO @ Jan. 28 2007,06:00) Jack, you must be new here. If you had taaken a half-second break from your self-involvement, you would have seen from his post that Jack has been here for four years with over 375 posts. Self-parody strikes again. Cheers, Damien... By the way, sorry your frien...

When I said that I turned out to be right, I was referring to the eventual critical reaction to the movie, which was generally far from enthusiastic and definitely not as expected by the fans of the movie, and to the disappointing results at the Oscars. Just this. Okay, I don't want to join this ar...

Quote (jack @ Jan. 25 2007,20:08) A surprise win for DiCaprio. Oh come on, seriously? If it was for the Departed, maybe, but for this? Could the Academy really use his convincing accent and two great performances in one year to award him for this lightweight movie? Of course they could. Forest Whit...

Eastwood steals another from Marty as his movie catches major momentum...

Won't happen. The film's just not loved enough. This is one race that Scorsese won't lose. The Scorsese v. Eastwood thing reminds me of the Coppola v. Fosse re-match in '76. Scorsese will win this hands-down.

First thing’s first: I hated Little Miss Sunshine, and feel its nomination is a slap in the face to films like Pan’s Labyrinth, Children of Men, and to a lesser extent, Dreamgirls. Now, I’m no fan of Dreamgirls, but I’d replace it with Little Miss Sunshine any day. Moving on… I don’t see this years...

what is everyone else dreading might happen tomorrow, other than the obvious nominations that we all know are coming.

Little Miss Sunshine's Best Picture nomination that should be given to either Children of Men or Pan's Labyrinth.

A thought has just occured to me... With the Best Picture race so wide open, and Best Director almost sealed up, the voters may just vote The Departed. If this year truly is Scorsese's year, and there is no apparted front-runner for Best Picture, then everyone may just go along with Scorsese movie ...

Quote (Mister Tee @ Jan. 09 2007,13:15) Year after year I hold out hope the DGA and Academy will please me. Year after year they go for the cheese. Yeah, as far as I'm concerned, Sabin was totally right and Little Miss Sunshine is winning Best Picture. And as for Martin Scorsese? Kiss your Oscar go...

S. ACTOR: Mark Whalberg, The Departed I am starting to think that Whalberg may make the Supporting Actor line up in place of Nicholson for The Departed. Whalberg only appears in maybe five or so scenes, but he steals them completely from his co-stars. I watched my screener of The Departed again tod...
