This reminds me of something I read several years ago. Lucie Arnaz said she would like for digital technology to eliminate smoking from I Love Lucy episodes. This statement may have been made in connection with plans to release Lucy episodes on DVD. I do not know if this was done. Lucy and Ricky sm...

WOW! I had to go back to Aug. 7 posts by Magilla and flipp525 to find out where this interesting thread about who should and should not have gotten acting noms for 1994 got so badly off track. Magilla posted something negative about Rob Schneider, flipp responded by saying he is willing to give Sch...

I downloaded it off the internet and saw it for free. I suppose I saw the entire film for it was over and hour and twenty minutes. I am no expert on engineering so it was hard for me to know if there are innocent explanations for the discrepancies noted in the film. But it made for very interesting...

I know we had this discussion before but I can't find the thread. It was appreciated, just not as appreciated as Dr, Strangelove or Seven Days in May, another topical political thriller. I, for one, took Fail-Safe quitie seriously in 1964. I remember coming out of the theatre happy to see that NYC ...

One of the father's relatives asked him to move to Australia to work in a family business. I had always heard that Pop had moved the family out of America to protect his son (s?) from the draft during the Vietnam War. That may have beed the real reason for the move to Australia, but the documentary...

I was always a fan of Mel Gibson on the screen, but I always thought there was something a little off about him personally. Several years ago, I was watching a show like Biography about him and heard some strange things that may partly expain his personality. I was unaware until I saw that show tha...

Mel is a strange bird with some distasteful views. But I am still looking forward to Apocalypto. He could have done anything he wanted after his financial windfall from "Passion." It is interesting he chose to make a film about a culture that has been almost never been portrayed in films ...

I loved "Clerks" but I am not looking forward to the upcoming sequel. Sounds like a bad idea and the trailer and TV ads I have seen do not make me want to see it. But I have to agree with Kevin that Joel was way out of line and Kevin's comments blasting Joel made me laugh out loud. Check ...

This may get the thread way off topic, but I would like to cast another vote for releasing Song Of The South on DVD. Sure, Disney seriously sanitized Joel Chandler Harris' stories about the rural U.S. South during the years after the Civil War. But anyone familiar with the original stories on which...

The Globe is hardly the most respected news source, but I am glad to read that story because it brings some very amusing images to my mind.

Zeta-Jones could do a good job as Rose. She has not shown she is a top notch actress, but she has done well playing tough, hard-hearted resourceful women (Chicago, Traffic, Intolerable Cruelty, Entrapment). And I think she would have no problem wearing makeup to age herself for this role. And I agr...

I would not be surprised if this project gets revived soon. Somebody has to make this film. Sharon Stone and Antonio Banderas may be a little old now to play the principals but the film should still be made. What a great film story: a troubled teen stabs her very famous mother's abusive lover and h...

Looks like I was dead wrong in my prediction for Da Vinci Code's box office. A 77 million dollar opening weekend is outstanding for any film. I was correct in predicting the bad reviews but they did not keep the crowds away. I guess a lot of people just want to see it. I am not surprised. The fact ...

This will help it when it is released this fall.
