As I said quoting Katharine Hepburn in the Best Actress thread, the right actors win Oscars for the wrong movies.
Jeff Bridges will likely win this year for Crazy Heart, but he's more apt to be remembered for other, better films. Conversely, George Clooney who gives by far his best performance in Up in the Air will be remembered for that film long after the one he won his Oscar for is forgotten. Wait, I think it already has been.
I voted for Clooney.

He will probably not even get nominated, but I had to show support for Matt Damon in The Informant!. One of the most pleasant surprises I had at the movies this year was seeing how Matt and Soderbergh made that character one of the year's most complex and interesting. And I think Matt has been unfairly overlooked by the Academy more than once, especially when Leo was nominated for The Departed.
The great thing in the world is not so much where we stand, as in what direction we are moving. It's faith in something and enthusiasm for something that makes a life worth living. Oliver Wendell Holmes

Colin Firth all the way.
Of the actors listed here, I have only seen the performances of Clooney, Copley, Firth, Freeman, and Renner. Mortensen's performance is the only one I am still looking forward to seeing, but I doubt any of the folks listed here whom I have not seen will change my support for Firth.
