The month ends Sunday. Don't forget to send in your votes if you haven't already.

It all depends on the response, filmfan. It might not happen at all. I just depends on how many I get.

Rodgers and Styne are covered. I included them on my list. Burton Lane and John Kander would have been my numbers 11 and 12. Cy Coleman would have been in my top 25. It woudl be nice if someone else would include Lane and Kander on their list.

As for lyricists, I sadly didn't have room for Dorothy Fields, having bumped her for the team of Betty Comden and Adolph Green.

So, as long as a show or a composer shows up on one list, it will go on the final ballot? Wish I had known that, my list migth have looked a little different.

Oh, and Jule Styne, too.

as long as the names appear on others' lists, then you'll have your composers available. This is the basic list. When it's compiled, depending on the size, I'll just have them rank them all, but no more than 25.

God it's hard narrowing it down to 10 composers. I've actually had to exclude Richard Rodgers from my list (and Burton Lane, John Kander and Cy Coleman).

And don't forget Kurt Weil when compiling your lists, folks.

I think the idea is he is taking all the nominations and compiling a ballot from which we can all vote for a final list. If you submit a list of more than 25, it means you get more of a say than someone else who submits 25.

Sorry, Charlie. That's the best I can do. Like the list, or hate it, I cannot subract from it.
And exactly WHY do you need them compiled to 25, if I may be so bold to ask? Are you entering these somewhere else, or is it just for your own amusement?

Does my list count in this? If so, thank you. It has more than 25. I could no more pick the best 25 "modern Musicals" than fly to the moon, and the lyricists and composers have worked so well together on the shows I have chosen that I would choose them all. Still more than 25.
