Flight Fright! Leonardo DiCaprio's Plane Makes Emergency Landing
That could have been a disaster of titanic proportions.
A Moscow-bound flight carrying Leonardo DiCaprio—as well as a planeful of non-Oscar nominees—was forced to reroute and make an emergency landing at New York's John F. Kennedy Airport yesterday.
So what happened? Why was Leo heading to Russia? And was it all just a dream?
Well, respectively—we're getting to that, for tigers, and no. Pretty nightmarish, though.

According to the 36-year-old's reps, the plane returned to NYC as a necessary safety precaution after one of its engines shut down.
"En route to attend the Tiger Summit in St. Petersburg, Leonardo DiCaprio was one of the passengers aboard Delta Flight 30," his spokesman said. "He wishes to commend the actions of the pilot and flight crew in bringing the plane to a safe landing."
DiCaprio has yet to book another flight out to Russia, though a source tells E! News that it's not for lack of trying. Despite his flight fright, the actor may still make it out to attend the Tiger Summit, an international forum on tiger conservation, as part of his role as an ambassador for the Global Tiger Intiative, which seeks to bring wild tigers out of danger of extinction by 2020 by enforcing stronger conservation efforts.
The Summit itself is a five-day event cohosted by Russian Prime Minister Vladimir Putin and the World Bank, so DiCaprio still has time.
Whatever the case, Leo's actions upon landing simply confirmed what a suave character the actor really is. A source tells E! News that once on the ground, crew and passengers asked DiCaprio to sign autographs. Which he did.
