Whether they are behind the camera or in front of it, this is the place to discuss all filmmakers regardless of their role in the filmmaking process.

One of those names I feel like I've been familiar with my entire life, but I couldn't for the life of me conjure up a picture of him or tell you if/where I've ever seen him. Looking over his credits, i'm thinking I must have heard his name when he appeared on the TV show The Virginian (though I don't know I ever watched the show). I certainly remember the character of Abilene in The Last Picture Show, but never registered it was him playing the part.

But there he is, with over 100 credits (largely TV), proving that there are actors having perfectly solid careers with whom some of us never really come in contact.

The real-life cowboy turned actor was 93. He had first gained attention on TV in 1955 and eventually appeared on screen in everything from The Last Picture Show to Once Upon a Time in Hollywood including Return of the Living Dead.
