2018-2020 Best Actor Winners

I'm on the fence between Anthony Hopkins and Joaquin Phoenix. The former might be a bit overrated at this point (I enjoyed the film more) while the latter might actually be a little underrated. I don't have a strong preference but I feel better about voting for Anthony Hopkins.

This a tough one.

Non-nominated Ethan Hawke in First Reformed was better than Malik in Bohemian Rhapsody, but Malik was good.

Phoenix deserved his win for The Joker.

I preferred Riz Ahmed in Sound of Metal to Anthony Hopkins in The Father, but on balance, Hopkins' performance was superior to Phoenix's so he gets my vote.
