Best Cinematography 1937

This has to be the weirdest group of nominees yet in our newest to oldest look at the category.

Wings Over Honolulu is an instantly forgettable romantic drama. How they managed to nominate that while ignoring the likes of Captains Courageous, Lost Horizon, The Prisoner of Zenda and The Hurricane is beyond my comprehension.

Dead End is a well photographed opening up of the stage play, but The Good Earth had to have been an easy choice for voters in this lopsided three-way race. I concur with their choice.
