Jordan Peele's follow-up to Get Out is bound to attract interest, and it apparently went over big with the SXSW crowd (who love 'em their genre stuff). But "more horror/less social commentary than Get Out" doesn't sound like an AMPAS-friendly formula.

And check out this opening sentence from the Variety review: "For all the genius of Jordan Peele’s 2017 debut, “Get Out” — a movie that oh-so-smartly reinforced its horror-movie skeleton with an adamantium-strong (and twice as sharp) racial-tension allegory — audiences seemed to have one critique in common: The movie wasn’t nearly scary enough."

Nobody asked my opinion on that.
