Or he could be like Robert Duvall in The Judge. Previous, respected, Oscar winner in a genre role doing credible but unspectacular work yet getting nominated anyway. Still, I think this year has been a fuller year for actors that doesn't really require a filler name. Especially with the extended calendar.

It's also the nature of his role and that sudden twist which totally changes one's feelings towards him. Yes, I think Leto has a good shot at an Oscar nod now.

In some respects worse than the Globes.

No Delroy Lindo or Ellen Burstyn and surprisingly, no Amanda Seyfried.

Amy Adams? Jared Leto again?
