Happy Birthday, Zahveed!
I'm halfway through a month-like dietary cleanse prohibiting wheat, sugar, salt, and red meat. Halfway through the cleanse one is supposed to undergo a 48 hour juice fast. I timed them out to follow a series of pick-ups I was supposed to film this past weekend, which (thank GOD!!!) was plagued with rain and a flaky actress; we've rescheduled for President's day weekend, and, lucky bastard that I am, some OTHER production fell prey to my cinematographer's broken red cam hard-drive. Literally NOTHING would have recorded had we shot. Silver linings abound.
I missed a chance to see Fantastic Mr. Fox with appearances by Wes Anderson and Noah Baumbach, so instead I'm going to deposit some checks and see A Single Man.
Thank you guys! This is the beginning of a fantastic year!

I don't know if it's a coincidence or not, but today is also National Popcorn Day! Tonight, let's celebrate the birthdays of two of our most voracious film-goers by going to the theater to see "Police, Adjective" or something, and noshing on an Extra Large of that greatest, most cinematic of snack foods.
Zahveed, don't make the same mistake you made last year. Corn, not Corona! Kettle popped, not Ketel One!
