I guess the time is now.
I can see any film but Frost/Nixon taking ensemble -- Button or Slumdog on "favorite film" basis, Doubt on four high-powered lead performances, Milk on the classic definition of ensemble. I worry Milk's limited release could hurt it, but, given Doubt's non-best picture Oscar situation, I'll make Milk my crossed-fingers prediction.
The Wrestler has been even less seen that Milk, so Sean should win here -- especially since he's never won SAG.
If Winslet wins for Revolutionary Road, she's truly an Oscar lock. More likely Streep wins here, with Hathaway a possible upset.
Ledger. The free spot on your bingo card.
Everyone's really that sure about Winslet taking supporting? The Reader is such a flop -- how many of those multi-thousand SAG voters have seen it? Wil they really all vote on name recognition alone? This category has some history of voting the most commercially successful even when they're Oscar long shots (Dench for Chocolat, Dee last year), which would argue for Henson, or Adams/Davis. Even Cruz has been fairly well-exposed thanks to DVD.
I'll take the long shot on Adams, probably overly-influenced by seeing the film yesterday.
