It really is unfortunate that Let The Right One In was released before the critics top ten lists came out. It could have had a decent marketing push as a result.

For a nomination yes. I think it's still too early to lock up wins in almost any category. Remember that the people voting on these awards are not the same as the people voting on Oscars. For one, they're not nearly as likely to have movie stars among their friends, and as I've seen someone else point out it's been a long time since a film with no movie stars in it won Best Picture. You have to go back to Rocky and even that's debatable- Talia Shire was better-known than any of Slumdog's actors.
