Voted for All Quiet on the Western Front.
The Big House is a taut, if static, prison melodrama. Wallace Beery (who took over the role when Lon Chaney died suddenly), Chester Morris and Robert Montgomery are all superb. Disraeli is a talkfest but has a good performance by George Arliss. The Divorcee is soap opera, watchable because of Norma Shearer - today an acquired taste but she has always been one of my favorite stars. The Love Parade has Chevalier doing his ''thing'' and Jeanette MacDonald (another star from that era who, today, unfortunately appears to have lost flavour).
Missing from the list are The Blue Angel, The Passion of Joan of Arc and Blackmail.
