Best Actor: Cillian Murphy (it would be nice to see Paul Giamatti win; good lineup!)
Best Actress: Emma Stone
Best Supporting Actor: Ryan Gosling (fabulous lineup)
Best Supporting Actress: worst lineup in a while... I'm fine with Brooks, Foster, or Randolph. Sure, fine, Randolph.
Best Director: Martin Scorsese (Lanthimos and Nolan would be good winners)
Best Original Screenplay: May December
Best Adapted Screenplay: Poor Things
Best Cinematography: Killers of the Flower Moon
Best Costume Design: Poor Things
Best Production Design: Killers of the Flower Moon
Best Sound: The Zone of Interest
Best Editing: Anatomy of a Fall
Best Score: Poor Things (not in love with the lineup)
Best Song: "I'm Just Ken" (Barbie)
Best Visual Effects: it's a battle between state-of-the-art (The Creator) vs. scrappy (Godzilla Minus Zero). But The Creator is scrappy as well. It looks like it should cost 2 or 3 times its $80m. It should be The Creator but Godzilla Minus Zero is a fine choice.
Best International Feature: The Teacher's Lounge
Best Animated Feature: Spider-Man: Across the Spider-Verse

Actor: Cillian Murphy
Actress: Lily Gladstone
Supporting Actor: Robert DeNiro (close over Gosling and Downey)
Supporting Actress: Emily Blunt (I would toss the entire lineup)
Director: Christopher Nolan (or Scorsese)
Original Screenplay: May December
Adapted Screenplay: Oppenheimer
Cinematography: Killers of the Flower Moon
Costume Design: Barbie
Production Design: Killers of the Flower Moon
Sound: Oppenheimer
Editing: Oppenheimer
Score: Oppenheimer (or Killers)
Song: Wahzhazhe
Visual Effects: abstain
Makeup: Society of the Snow
International Feature: of the two I've seen, Society of the Snow
Animated Feature: only seen Spider-Verse (may catch one or two others today), which would be a good winner
Documentary Short: of three seen, The Last Repair Shop
Live Action Short: of two seen, Henry Sugar, although I didn't love either
Animated Short: haven't seen any

Your Oscar ballot

Excluding best picture (covered in another thread, for preferential), what would you vote for in the other 22 categories?

I found a number of the choices difficult -- some because I didn't swoon for anyone; others because I swooned for more than one.

Best Actor: Paul Giamatti (it would have been Andrew Scott, if nominated)
Best Actress: Lily Gladstone (Sandra Huller an eyelash behind)
Best Supporting Actor: Ryan Gosling
Best Supporting Actress: Da'Vine Joy Randolph (resistance is futile)
Best Director: Christopher Nolan
Best Adapted Screenplay: Poor Things
Best Original Screenplay: Past Lives
Best Cinematography: Poor Things
Best Costume Design: Poor Things
Best Production Design: Barbie
Best Sound: Maestro
Best Editing: Anatomy of a Fall
Best Music Score: Killers of the Flower Moon
Best Song: What Was I Made For?
Best Visual Effects: (FORCED TO ABSTAIN)
Best Make-up & Hairstyling: Poor Things
Best International Feature: The Zone of Interest
Best Animated Feature: Robot Dreams
Best Documentary Feature: Four Daughters
Best Documentary Short: The Last Repair Shop
Best Live Short: Knight of Fortune
Best Animated Short: The Five Senses (barely, over Pachyderme)
