My friend, you seem to have omitted a best director pick (probably because you, like me, worked from the initial post of nominations here, which left the category out).

Not doing any runners up at the moment. This is where I see it landing as of now. I'll also say that expanding their lineup to six really mucks with my calls. Last year, there was a clear indication of enthusiasm for The Banshees of Inisherin with its eight nominations. But this year with six nominations per category plus a Box Office Achievement nomination, who's to say what the totals would be in another year. My guesses? I think all of Barbie's eight "normal" nominations would be safe. Same for all of Oppenheimer's seven. Two of Poor Things' seven are in doubt for me (DaFoe and Score). The only one I wonder about for Killers of the Flower Moon is its screenplay nomination.

Either way, I think it's going to be a Barbenheimer night.

Best Motion Picture: Drama Oppenheimer
Best Motion Picture: Comedy or Musical Barbie (r.u. Poor Things)
... I thought about doing with Poor Things considering voters might be reticent to write Barbie for both categories but I have a hard time imagining they'll pass up a chance to vote Barbenheimer.

Best Animated Film Spider-Man: Across the Spider-Verse
Best International Film Past Lives
Best Cinematic or Box Office Achievement Barbie
Best Actor: Drama Bradley Cooper, Maestro
Best Actor: Comedy or Musical Paul Giamatti, The Holdovers
Best Actress: Drama Lily Gladstone, Killers of the Flower Moon
Best Actress: Comedy or Musical Emma Stone, Poor Things
Best Supporting Actor Ryan Gosling, Barbie (r.u. Robert Downey, Jr., Oppenheimer)
Best Supporting Actress Da'Vine Joy Randolph, The Holdovers
Best Director Christopher Nolan, Oppenheimer
Best Screenplay Barbie
Best Original Score Oppenheimer
Best Original Song "I'm Just Ken" (Barbie)
Bonus Question: 3

Golden Globe Predictions Contest

Post by anonymous1980 »

Due to the fact that I’m vacationing abroad, I almost forgot to do this.

Here are the rules to refresh your memory:

1. Pick a winner and an optional runner-up in all the FILM categories (including the box-office category).

2. A correct prediction with a runner-up earns 2 points.

3. A correct runner-up prediction earns 1 point.

4. A correct prediction without a runner-up earns 3 points.

5. If three or less people get the right prediction, that prediction will earn them double points.

6. If you're the only one with the correct prediction, your prediction will earn you TRIPLE points.

7. Most accumulated points win.

8. Deadline is the moment the host or the first presenters hit the stage.

OPTIONAL BONUS QUESTION: How many acceptance speeches from all categories will evoke Gaza, A.I. and/or the strikes? (5 points, has to be exactly right)
