I've never really thought about the host in context of the year's films, but that's an interesting observation.

Strange, I've heard almost no one bemoan his hosting duties. Everyone on my feed who's spoken about it has spoken glowingly of the decision.

I think the AMPAS would be insane not to ask him back. They've tried everything to "fix" the Academy Awards and very little has worked. He has. He's also steeped in Academy lore at this point. He was there for the Moonlight snafu and he addressed the Will Smith slap to satisfaction last year.
He's fine. Keep him. I think people are going to watch the show this year and I think he'd be a good fit for Barbenheimer.

Back for the 4th time. internet folk are moaning the lack of someone "exciting", but I don't think exciting is really in the job description. Handle things with aplomb, be funny enough...that's the requirement, which I thought Kimmel lived up to last year, so why not bring him back?
