With all the fuss about Daniel Craig being given a chivalric honor at the Queen's 2022 New Year's Honors, it seemed as if no one was made a knight or dame this year. Not so. Buried in the small print of the press release was the note that Vanessa Redgrave has received a damehood.

Redgrave was appointed Commander of the Order of the British Empire (CBE) in 1967. Reportedly, she declined a damehood in 1999. However, she was appointed Dame Commander of the Order of the British Empire (DBE) in the 2022 New Year Honours for services to drama.
