R.I.P. Jane Powell

Whether they are behind the camera or in front of it, this is the place to discuss all filmmakers regardless of their role in the filmmaking process.

Seen all her films. The earlier ones were good fun. Never liked Seven Brides For Seven Brothers but she was very good later in a tv version of Meet Me in St. Louis in the Judy Garland part - a remake with a wonderful cast, Walter Pidgeon & Myrna Loy as the parents, Jeanne Crain as the older daughter, Tab Hunter as the love interest and Patty Duke as Tootie.

I remember her playing the grandmother on Growing Pains.

Been busy celebrating my birthday all day with two sisters and a sister-in-law from out-of-town.

I just wrote an article on Jane Powell and the cast of Seven Brides for Seven Brothers for CinemaSight two weeks ago. Surprised you didn't know she was married to Dickie More.

Surprised Magilla or Reza didn't jump in first with this.

I don't know that I saw her in anything beyond Seven Brides and Royal Wedding. Most interresting part of her obit is finding out she (quite late in life) married Dickie Moore, of child star fame.
